There's a particular kind of ease that comes from not having to decide who you're being that day. Some mornings call for something quieter; a way of moving through the world without announcement. Other days, you want the room to say more, without changing what you're wearing to do it.
We've always believed that clothing was merely the starting point for us to explore those versions of living life embodied.
That's the idea "BA6" (basics) was built around.
Basics, Reconsidered

BA6 has been a while in the making. Since the inception of our ready-to-wear, we've observed and watched how our clothes were being worn and lived in. Comfort has always been the value system underneath how we operate, long before it became a line of its own. The idea of a basic you could actually rely on has sat in the back of my mind for years.
In recent years, I often found myself reaching out to the same key pieces, like the Jinwa Knit Polo, or the Sokko Zip Tee in the different colours through a long week of refining designs and appointments. It dawned on me that having good reliable pieces like these can help you show up, regardless of the occasion and not second guess yourself at all.
With the launch of this evergreen line, we wanted to finally give it the weight it deserved; the highest consideration on materials, colours and cuts, all built to layer and move with each other with ease. These staple pieces were designed to be easy additions to our current wardrobe; the kind that make sense for any time of the day. Whether you choose to layer it over or under, it should simply fit. Our sizing runs slightly roomier than expected, with intention, because we wanted the fit itself to be a form of expression. The same piece in a size 1 or 4 should feel equally right; it just depends on how you're arriving that day.
This is our choice of medium to signal what living life embodied looks like, with adaptable, and quietly deliberate basics. That's the shift this launch is really welcoming.
What's Coming Back, and What's New
In the last two years, we've spent real time learning which styles and fabrications speak for us, and for you.
This round, we're bringing back some of the core favourites in new colourways, alongside new additions that round out the BA6 family.
Crowd favourites like the Sokko Zip Tee is finally getting an extension with two new colours, in Blush Pink and Olive Fig.

We're also introducing key base pieces, such as our Mock Neck Tee in three new colours - Azure Blue, Grey Marl and Caramel, specially curated to make sense with most styling logics, as well as our take on the Military Henley Tee in Cream and Charcoal Marl.
And apart from our core BA6 items, we're also bringing back encore pieces like the Barun Trousers, this time made with a medium weight Slub Denim from Kaihara, Japan. The Barun Trousers was one of my all-time favourite pieces from our very first collection "ARC". I loved the styling options that the suspender detail provided, and I wanted to bring back that same magic, in a core fabrication like denim, what more from the maker of half of Japan's denim production. "MAMO": A Small Ritual, Carried With You
Alongside BA6, we're also introducing MAMO - a small range of objects and accessories, inspired by the omamori. These are usually little embroidered charms you'll find at temples across Japan, each holding a paper or wooden slip inscribed with a prayer. The name borrows from mamoru (守る), "to protect". Though the items from MAMO isn't an acutal omamori itself, it is a quiet nod to what one has always meant to me.
I've always found myself returning to that ritual when I travel, heading to a temple not for anything specific, just for a moment of stillness, and leaving with an omamori to reset my mind again. It's less about what it protects against, and more about what it reminds you to carry: a small, quiet intention, close enough to touch.
MAMO is our way of extending that same idea into objects you can hold onto; a small companion piece that accompanies you as you choose to move through your days, perhaps with curiosity, and a little more awake to them.
Early Access at Common Rare, 18–20 Sept
Ahead of our digital launch, BA6 will have its first moment out in the world at Common Rare Fair from 18–20 September, 12.30–9PM, at Suntec Convention Centre.
It's a fitting room for our new family of basics to debut in - a gathering of independent, waiting-to-be-seen labels from across Southeast Asia and China, all there for the same reason we are: to make something considered, not just consumed.
We're also honoured to be part of the lineup as one of Streetthing's picks for the fair, and if you've been waiting to see and feel BA6 in person before it goes live online, this is that window.
