We unveil a new chapter and event on our calendar, cementing Studio Saturdays, an open studio format where we welcome you into our universe, along with a curated experience that features other like-minded independent brands and makers.
It's wild to think back on the inception of our Open House events, which first debuted to launch our collections, before that led up to a more curated version of where we are today. And it certainly warms my heart when I recount that journey.
Our first ever Open House event actually fell on a Sunday in 2023, the very same year our third studio space opened doors and we were certainly excited preparing for it. In fact, I can't say it was a roaring success since there was only a turn out of two people. But I can't say it was discouraging either, because the two who showed up did it with warmth and full support, and actually ordered items from our collection.
This provided a little spark for us to move forward as we navigated what a fuller retail experience could look like for a brand like ours.
The launch of "STAPLES: A New Sun Rising" collection, featuring bold colours on key tailored staple shirtings, and Shery and Alfie who graced our first ever Open House x
And as we marched forward into 2024, we took a leap of faith to join Boutique Fairs and debuted
"ARC", our first ever ready-to-wear collection. There was so many things that we learnt, and then the Open House became a gateway for our subsequent launches as we did a follow-up to
"ARC" with the
"Tritone edit" and also invited
Chef Connor Gibson to offer his bakes, and provided
Hideout coffees for sale too.
With every event, it was always a gateway for us to see our designs come alive through your lenses, and hear your feedback. I'm always moved by the kind words, and also constructive comments that help us to reframe our design thinking and shaping what is the 3EIGHTH voice.
And this year, we challenged ourselves to bring forth a more wholistic experience as we wanted to grow beyond offering our clothing and launches, and invited
RE:ERTH Skincare, YE Jewelry to showcase their range of products, and
Hideout Coffees also set up a little booth to offer their coffee and bakes for clients coming through. It was wonderful to see familiar faces.
The April edition marked the launch of our second "ARCHIVALS" collection, and we loved the synergy of having our communities coming together:
And here we are, inching into another new chapter of our journey, taking our Open House experience up another notch, as we proudly present Studio Saturdays as part of our universe, happening on 12 July, Sat x
And we can't wait to host all of you, with some new additions to our "ARCHIVALS" range, a mid-year sale (!!!) along side these wonderful brands
It's surreal to think we'd see this version come through. And we'd love to have you as we celebrate this new milestone. Come by, grab a beer (on Kirin beers!) and chill out with your camping chairs to hang with us if you'd like too! It'd be a bunch of universal good vibes, great music and some fun, we're sure of that x
With all my heart,
Sheryl, 3EIGHTH
